Meetings are held at Loudon Elementary School

Loudon has a very active Cub Scout program for boys in grades 1 through 5. Boys join the pack and are assigned to a den, usually a group of six to eight boys. They are divided by age: Tiger Cubs (first-graders), Wolf Cub Scouts (second-graders), Bear Cub Scouts (third-graders), First-year Webelos Scouts (fourth-graders) and Second-year Webelos Scouts (fifth-graders).

Once a month, all of the dens and family members gather for a pack meeting under the direction of a Cubmaster and pack committee. The pack relies on adult volunteers to serve as committee members and den leaders.

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

One of the most popular activities the boys do is the Pinewood Derby held every January. The pack also offers one overnight trip a year. They have been held at science museums, on a battleship, at the YMCA and a Fisher Cats Game. The pack holds a Family Fun Night that includes a cookout and games as well as a summer campfire with songs, skits and s’mores. The pack marches in the Memorial Day and Old Home Day parades and runs booths during Old Home Day.

Remember to look for a Loudon Cub Scout or volunteer and ask what you can do to support our great programs for the boys of Loudon!!!

"How do I sign up?"- Boys are welcome to join Cub Scouts at any time during the year
