Economic Development Committee

Economic Development is defined in many ways, but in general, can be stated as a program, group of policies, and/or activity that seeks to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for a community.  Economic development not only retains jobs and provides a stable tax base but also promotes economic betterment by continually improving human development, education, health, safety, and well-being for the citizens of a community.

The mission of the Loudon Economic Development Committee is to effectively manage community change in accordance with the Loudon Master plan and land use regulations, by providing professional advice and technical expertise in a consistent and fair manner to citizens; boards and commissions; departments; and regional agencies on the implementation of land use regulations and policies for both the short and long term physical, economic, and community development of Loudon.
