Historical Society Meeting Minutes November 3, 2021

Attendance: Sandi Noel, Roger Maxfield, Elizabeth Whitham, DeeDee Tranfaglia, Michele York, Stanley Prescott, Lucy Gordon, Wes Jones, Melissa Moore, Liz LeBrun

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm. Roger made a motion to accept the secretary’s report as written. DeeDee seconded. The motion carried.

Lucy reported that we have spent $1200 YTD.

We should hear by November 15 on the outcome of the Traveling Trunk grant application.

Trash in the stone house has been sorted and removed by Roger and Stanley.

The cemetery tour of Moore and Mount Hope led by Stanley was discussed. Nine members and their guests attended and found it informational and interesting. The concentration was on veterans. The oldest Moore grave found to date is 1855.

The current topic being written for the town history book is factories, tanneries, tan yards and cabinet makers. Melissa has been researching tax records, cemeteries, NH State Library archives and business directories.

The Made in Loudon Expo and Tree Lighting scheduled for December 5 1-4 pm still has tables available. Members signed up to bring baked goods. Roger will decorate the tree and will check with the Fire Department to put it on their sign as well as when their space will be available for set up. Santa is lined up. We need to coordinate with the Library about story time. Set up time can be 1-3 Saturday December 4 at Charlie’s Barn.

The next meeting is December 1 at 6:30 pm.

Roger made a motion to adjourn. Wes seconded. The meeting adjourned at 7:40.

Respectfully submitted,

Liz LeBrun

Secretary
