The meeting was called to order at 6:34 pm

Motion by Roger to accept the meeting minutes as written. Second by DeeDee

Lucy reported that $950 is remaining in the budget. Ancestry has not been renewed yet. Toner is also needed.

Melissa reported that she is working on the municipal government chapter of the town history book. She has spent time reading town reports and researching at the town office. We discussed Cascade Park, Loudon fairs, and permission slips. The book contract needs to be discussed in a separate director’s meeting. The town will own the book and we are preparing to purchase 2000 to obtain the best price.

It was discussed about asking the town to buy banners to hang across the road to advertise the 250th celebration.

We also discussed putting something on the door of Charlie’s Barn with our hours and who to call for building rental. We will shoot for something more upscale in the future.

The Traveling Trunks will be presented to the Young at Heart on May 10 as well as the 4th grade class on May 26 and 27.

We discussed the yard sale on June 4 and the donation of two truckloads from Jan Benard. A painting, a table and a blanket chest have been designated to stay at the Historical Society.

Old Home Day was briefly discussed. The building will be open that day.

We have 7 calendars left

The safe needs repair and Adams Lock & Safe recommend we hire a professional welder. Discussion of getting an estimate from Russell McKenzie. Thank you to the town crew for helping to move the safe away from the wall.

The next meeting is June 1 at 6:30 pm.

Motion to adjourn by Lucy. Second by Roger.

Meeting adjourned at 7:40.

Respectfully Submitted,

Liz LeBrun, Secretary
