Calendar update—Dyrace has the package and is putting things together.

Michele suggests we purchase a permanent message board like what the churches have in order to advertise our hours and our functions. Roger will check the zoning ordinances that pertain to signs. A committee with Michele, Melissa, Elizabeth and Stan will proceed to collect information.

Town History update—Gibson’s sold 36 books. After the holidays, they will return the unsold books. Sanborn Mills Farm has invited Melissa to present at lunchtime on November 3. A presentation is scheduled at the library on October 12 at 6 pm. Melissa has contacted the Loudon Farmers Market but has not had a response. Melissa has sold 193 books at the sugarhouse. We sold 47 books at Old Home Day. Melissa will present a copy of the book on behalf of the Historical Society for the library’s reference section. A copy of the book has been donated to keep displayed on the desk at the Historical Society for visitor’s to leaf through. Liz will give a book to the school on behalf of the Historical Society for their library’s reference section.

Lucy made a motion to purchase a poster of the book cover for advertisement at the events. Stan seconded the motion. Motion carried.

We discussed paying for the book with credit cards or Venmo and decided that it was too difficult to work out.

The group discussed who should have keys to the building and/or the Historical Society. No definite decisions were noted.

Liz proposed offering the Scavenger Hunt to the 4th grade class at the elementary school and having the museum open if they chose to visit during a school day. Members liked the idea.

Time Capsule update—We decided to catalog the contents and have an evening of open viewing. We reviewed the costs associated with providing the new time capsule. Roger made a motion to accept those costs and reimburse Stan. Michele seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Nametags—We decided to purchase nametags at approximately $8.99 each before the Expo. Purchasing 15 will give us a few extra.

Review of Old Home Day—Sunday there were a lot of no show activities. Ornament sales went well. There are 99 remaining. The Historical Society won first place for the float. It was suggested that we print pictures and make a notebook of Old Home Day activities.

Selectman should be contacted to see if the book panel from the float can be mounted in the community building entrance.

Copies of the by-laws were given out and should be reviewed before the next meeting on October 4 at 6:30 pm which will be election of officers.

The income tax needs to be complete by November 15.

The Made in Loudon Expo will be December 3, 11 am-4pm with the tree lighting at 4:30.

We discussed creating a cemetery tour. Also suggested that on April 15 we celebrate National History Day with some kind of activity.

Roger made a motion to adjourn. Lucy seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 7:34 pm.
